Parent Survey Results to Date
Superintendent Peg Monteith
Friday, July 24, 2020

Thank you to each of the parents that have responded to our survey regarding reopening schools! To date, we have received 1,288 responses! Your input is critical as we put the final touches on our reopening plans for our schools. If you have not yet had an opportunity to respond to the survey, please take a few minutes to do that. You received the link via email.

Results thus far:

1. Instructional Delivery Options:  72.4% = On-site; 18.5% = Blended (on-site & remote); 9.2% = Off-site (remote)

2. Willingness to transport  your child to and from school:  88% = Yes; 12% = No

3. Support use of face-coverings: 72.3% = Yes;  27.7% = No (We received a number of comments regarding this question.)

4. Prescreening your children prior to sending them to school:  95.1% = Yes;  4.9% = No

Details will be coming out to you next week about the  district's reopening plan. At this point in time we have measures in place to bring all of our students back into the buildings to attend school on-site. Adjustments will be made to the physical space, the types and location of some activities, etc., all in order to keep students and staff as safe as possible. We believe that it is critically important to our students' academic needs and social/emotional wellness to be back in person with their classmates and teachers. We will also work with families whose students can't come back into the buildings (due to serious health concerns, etc.) on a case-by-case basis. Please contact your building principal/s if you have questions.

The CDC has just released a guidance document to help parents, guardians and caregivers with the decision to send their students back to school. You might find it helpful if you are struggling with this decision.

Stay safe and stay well!!
