Covid Protocol

Dear Cody Middle School Families and Students,

CMS students and staff are continuing to social distance when possible. Some classrooms simply are not big enough to accommodate the 6-foot social distance guidelines, so masks have continued to be recommended but not required. Our CMS Nurse has continued to work hard at contact tracing and communicating with families.

Cleaning and sanitizing protocols have continued across all PCSD#6 Schools. The CMS custodial staff has been working daily and diligently to keep our school clean and sanitized. CMS is currently in the process of updating our HVAC system to include a bipolar ionization feature that deactivates harmful substances like bacteria, mold, allergens, and viruses in the air.

Frequent hand washing is continuing to be encouraged and hand sanitizing stations are located throughout the school. Our number one priority is to ensure the health and safety of our staff, students, and their families. We want to make sure our doors stay open and that students can continue with in-person learning. Park County School District #6 recently communicated out the most recent guidelines on exposure and quarantine procedures. I have included that information below.

Close contact exposure with a COVID-positive individual at school will result in:

Quarantine - An unmasked student will be required to quarantine.

Remain in School - A student, properly wearing a mask that covers the mouth and nose, will not be required to quarantine as long as they remain asymptomatic.

Remain in School - A vaccinated student will be required to wear a mask for 14 days and may remain at school if they remain asymptomatic. (Per CDC Guidelines with proof of vaccination.)

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. Go Broncs and Fillies!

Respectfully,

Nathan Tedjeske - Cody Middle School Principal

Jacob Gogan - Cody Middle School Assistant Principal
